Nitrogen and media have different roles
Cooling alone does not remove flash. The machine blasts cryogenic media within a suitable temperature window so embrittled flash fractures at its root.
Lower temperature is not always better
Excessive cooling can increase risk to the part body, while insufficient cooling leaves flash ductile. Cooling time, load, blast intensity and media size must be adjusted together.
