Which deburring processes suit nylon and PA media?

Nylon and PA media are abrasion-resistant, low-dust polymer blast media used for ambient deburring of bakelite, thermosets, glass-filled plastics and selected alloy parts. They are not a direct substitute for every liquid-nitrogen deflashing process.

Suitable materials and tasks

Nylon media can remove brittle burrs, sharp edges and machining residue while limiting cutting of the part body. Results depend on material hardness, burr roots and blast-machine settings.

  • Bakelite and thermoset plastics
  • Glass-filled engineering plastics
  • Selected alloy and precision parts

Monitor wear, static and dust

Consistent sizing, abrasion resistance and anti-static performance support continuous blasting. When media powder increases, inspect separation, recovery and replacement conditions.
